TPMC Planner

TPMC Planner was originally developed as an internal tool to enable us to carry out our stock condition and life cycle costing work more efficiently.

Our business philosophy is to build long-term relationships with clients, and make an effective contribution to their maintenance planning and asset management.  Interest from clients keen to use the system in their own offices prompted the development of a ‘user-friendly’ interface, so that any member of staff could  run the basic reports and staff familiar with Access could generate their own specific queries and reports.

Based on  Microsoft Access 2000, we work with an IT consultant to provide clients with a bespoke database which is manageable and adaptable, and to which further data can easily be added to increase the accuracy of the information over time.    Data can also be simply exported to Excel if required.

PC tabletOn-site data collection is carried out on PC Tablets -  fully specified A4 sized portable computers- with  the data being downloaded onto the master database back at the office.

All the major internal and external components are surveyed, including information related to National Home Energy Ratings analysis  and the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.

Our normal system is to score component condition  on a scale of 1-5, where 5 is a new component, with all its useful life left, and 1 is a failed component, needing replacement.  The scores for each component in each scheme are then used to assess remaining useful life and hence renewal dates.

Cyclical maintenance intervals and costs can also be included,  as can service charges, where appropriate, to ensure a complete financial picture.  In the background there are extensive cost libraries based on our project work experience, but which can  be adapted for each client as  required.
